On June 17th, my oldest turned 12...it was a day of mixed emotions. I was so excited for him to turn 12...he now gets to go to YM's with his dad, he gets to do fast offerings, he gets to pass the sacrament...but, with each of these privileges comes an awesome responsibility...I couldn't help but reflect on the past 12 years and wonder if I had adequately prepared Kaiden for this experience. Anyways, Kaiden was at scout camp for his actual birthday, and due to family obligations by grandparents, we decided to go ahead and ordain Kaiden on Friday while he was still at scout camp. Uncle Stewart gave a brief history of the location of the ordination (it was where the scout camp had been dedicated...a really neat/spiritual experience). So, with all three sets of grandparents, and quite a few aunts, uncles, and cousins present, James ordained Kaiden to the office of a deacon. With his ordination complete, our deacon's quorum has now doubled!!! It was such a spiritual experience. I am so stickin' proud of Kaiden...he is such an amazing kid...there is a reason Heavenly Father sent him to me first. He is a dynamite big brother and one fantastic son. I love you, Kaiden!

I am sorry I missed it. It looks like it was a special day. Good for Kaiden. (And you certainly are not old enough to have a twelve year old). I think you and James are one of those couples who will always be young at heart.
Nan,
I have to be young at heart to keep up with James! He just goes and goes! The ordination was quite special...sorry you missed it. But, some things can't be helped...and we have more great memories to make anyways! I am looking forward to time at Powell. And, with part time hours now, maybe we can even get together as mommies and enjoy some time!
Becky,
How special! Kaiden really is such an awesome kid.
